Professional Installations



Allow our professional installers to set-up and install your new office system. Whether it's desks, full wall systems or a large project, we will treat your place of business with the utmost respect. We protect your furnishings, floors and walls from damage, coordinate with building personnel, set your office up to your requirements and dispose of unwanted furniture and packaging. Our installation is not complete until until the furniture is wiped down, leveled, adjusted, checked and accepted by our customer.

Our Process



Long before our refurbished cubicles are installed in our customers' offices, they undergo a rigorous screening and renewal process. They may be originally made by Haworth, Steelcase, Herman Miller or Hon, but once they leave our facility it's our name that's backing them and our name that's on the line. That's something we take very seriously.

All of our cubicles are carefully screened before they reach our warehouse. They are inspected for strength and sturdiness, physical damage, scratches, gouges, water or smoke damage. If they pass the test, they are delivered to our warehouse where they are inspected again for damage during transport. Anything we aren't 100% confident our customers will be happy with, we send out to be recycled.

When a customer places an order a few things happen. Panels are pulled and taken to be reupholstered in new fabric, in the color of the customer's choice. Work surfaces are cleaned up; gum stuck to the bottom is removed, pen marks or sticky residue is cleaned off. The surface is examined for scratches and gouges in the writing area. A scratch at the top we may allow, but nothing that will interfere with our customer's ability to work. It is taken to the wood shop where the edges are inspected for chips and sharp points that may snag a blouse or sweater. If it's rough to the touch, we cut the edge down and replace it with brand new t-molding. Occasionally it is necessary to re-laminate the work surfaces either by customer request or because of unsatisfactory color or appearance.

Pedestals, metal caps, rails and other parts are taken to be cleaned and painted. What may seem like a menial task, is actually one of the most important jobs here at Bargain Office Equipment for two reasons. 1.) Everything has to be thoroughly cleaned and sanded properly before painting so the paint will adhere properly. 2.) Our customers have grown to expect it. You'll find no dried up peanut butter and jelly in the crevices of the drawers, no old ketchup and mustard packages, just clean, freshly painted files and drawers. We use high quality commercial paint that is baked and cured for 2 days providing a durable, scuff resistant and attractive finish. The insides may be a different color than the outside but we guarantee cleanliness and professionalism.

The foundation of our success has been our attention to the small details that ensure our customers receive quality refurbished products as close to new as possible at a fraction of the cost. Our professional installers will come to your office and disassemble and remove your unwanted furniture. You will be credited for anything that we determine could be resold to offset the costs of disposal. Everything else will be broken down by material and hauled away to facilities where it is properly recycled or converted into energy to heat and power Michigan homes.

Here at Bargain Office equipment, we're committed to the recycling effort and have been since we opened back in 1980. The way we see it, it's not a bargain if the planet has to pay for it.

Everything we get in we find a way to restore, reuse or recycle. Tables with chipped edges, we cut down and re-edge them, restoring them to an attractive and usable state. Old fabric or pieces that are too small to be of use, we reuse as packing materials. Table tops with colors that are faded, damaged or just plain ugly we flip over and re-laminate. On the occasion that we do find something that's just too mangled and absolutely unusable, well then we take it to a recycling facility and it goes without saying that we recycle all of our old ink. In addition, many of our vendors are taking steps to make their products planet friendly. New or used, shopping with Bargain Office Equipment is shopping for sustainability.
